Squarespace orders

Printing shipping labels for Squarespace orders

Squarespace sells labels inside its Orders panel — UPS and USPS, domestic only, on the commerce-capable plans — and for a single-box US order that button is the short path. The gaps sit at the edges: no international labels, nothing on Android, one label per order, two carriers in the auction. The platform’s own help page was read on 2026-08-10 and the outside quotes below were captured on 2026-08-09.

Built-in labels cover the common case. Everything the panel will not print still has to ship somehow.

What the built-in label covers

The panel handles the common case: one US order, one box, UPS or USPS. Squarespace's own help article draws the boundary in one line — “You can only buy and print shipping labels for items shipped within the United States. It's not possible to print international labels.” Everything else below is paraphrased from the same article, read 2026-08-10.

There is also no declared-value coverage attached to a panel label, which matters once an order is worth real money. Rates inside the panel move with distance, box size, weight and service, the same inputs every label seller prices on.

Orders the panel cannot ship

The order left the country

International labels are off the table entirely. Buy the export label outside, keep the customs forms it generates, and carry the tracking number back into the order by hand.

The order needs two boxes

One label per order is a hard limit. A second box means a second label bought elsewhere — and a note to the customer so two tracking numbers make sense.

You want a third bidder

The panel quotes two carriers. Adding FedEx to the auction, or attaching declared-value protection to a high-ticket order, takes an outside purchase.

The outside workflow is short: quote the box as a guest, buy the label, print it on the same sheet or 4 × 6 stock you already use, then mark the Squarespace order fulfilled and paste the tracking number so the customer's email still carries it.

What two typical store orders quoted

Our checkout's three lowest quotes per box on 2026-08-09, shipped from Newark NJ. Every price already carries our charge inside it; nothing gets added later.
OrderRouteThree lowest quotes
Folded t-shirt in a poly mailer
10 × 8 × 1 in, 0.5 lb
Newark, NJ to Chicago, IL$8.86 USPS Ground Advantage, 4-5 business days
$10.06 FedEx Ground Economy, 4-5 business days
$10.69 UPS Ground, 2-3 business days
Scented soy candle in a gift box
8 × 6 × 4 in, 1.5 lb
Newark, NJ to Los Angeles, CA$13.40 UPS Ground, 4-5 business days
$13.42 USPS Ground Advantage, 4-5 business days
$17.50 USPS Priority Mail, 3-4 business days

Note the third bidder earning its seat: FedEx Ground Economy slotted between the two panel carriers on the light order. A storefront that only ever sees two quotes never learns what the third one would have said.

Common questions

Does Squarespace print shipping labels?

Yes, for US-domestic orders. UPS and USPS labels are sold from the Orders panel on the Core, Plus, Advanced, Business, Commerce Basic and Commerce Advanced plans, per Squarespace's help page read 2026-08-10.

Can Squarespace print international shipping labels?

No. Squarespace's article limits labels to items shipped within the United States, so an overseas order means buying the label outside the platform and pasting the tracking number into the order.

Why is there no label option on an Android phone?

Squarespace sells labels from a computer or its iOS app; the Android app does not offer them. From an Android device, either open the Orders panel on a computer or buy the label elsewhere.

Does the customer still get tracking with an outside label?

Yes, as long as you paste the number in. Mark the order fulfilled in Squarespace and add the tracking number by hand; the fulfillment email then carries it exactly as a panel-bought label would.

What did the two sample orders cost?

The half-pound poly mailer from Newark NJ to Chicago priced at $8.86 on USPS Ground Advantage, and the pound-and-a-half candle box to Los Angeles at $13.40 on UPS Ground, both quoted at our checkout on 2026-08-09.
