Privacy Policy

SMKlog collects and processes contact, shipment, package, payment, and carrier-service data in order to sell prepaid US domestic and international parcel shipping labels through self-service checkout: to price the shipment, take payment, buy the label from the carrier, and give you tracking. The same data supports quote workflows and, for freight, pallet and international shipments to destinations not sold online, routing the request through the appropriate logistics-provider path.
Data We Collect
- Business identity details such as name, company, role, and business contact information
- Shipment context such as origin, destination, mode, cargo profile, timing, and service requirements
- Package and label details such as dimensions, weight, contents, address information, selected carrier service, tracking, and label status
- Payment, billing, and checkout metadata needed to process secure quote and label workflows through payment and carrier-service providers
- Submission metadata and source information needed for service review, fraud prevention, and auditability
How We Use Data
- To review and respond to shipping quote, label, freight quote, and routing requests
- To determine fit, clarify shipment requirements, and route requests to the appropriate provider path
- To improve service quality, intake accuracy, and operational reporting
Lawful Basis
Where applicable, SMKlog processes personal data on the basis of consent, legitimate interest in handling business freight inquiries, and contractual necessity when moving toward service coordination.
Data Sharing
To buy a label, SMKlog must pass the sender and recipient address, the package details and the selected service to the carrier that will carry the shipment, and the payment amount to the payment processor. Neither receives more than the shipment requires: the carrier does not receive payment card data, and the payment processor does not receive the package contents.
SMKlog may also share relevant request information with logistics providers, payment processors, carrier-service platforms, or service partners when necessary to evaluate, route, rate, pay for, create, audit, or respond to a shipping or freight request. Information is shared only to the extent needed for service handling, qualification, compliance, payment processing, carrier service, and follow-up.
Retention
We retain business inquiry and request data only as long as needed for service delivery, legal compliance, fraud prevention, and audit purposes.
Cookies & Tracking
SMKlog currently uses the site primarily for functional request intake, quote workflows, payment redirection, and operational security. Non-essential analytics or advertising cookies should not be deployed for visitors who require consent unless a consent mechanism is available.
SMKlog Quick Quote Browser Extension
The SMKlog Quick Quote browser extension has a single purpose: preparing a shipping quote for the item on the page you are viewing. On product and listing pages it shows a small quote badge with the detected item name (and, on local classified ads, the seller ZIP published in the ad itself); you can also open the toolbar popup on any tab. No data leaves your browser until you press the quote button — only then are the detected item, the page address, and the shipment details you typed (ZIP codes, package dimensions, weight, quantity) sent to SMKlog's quote service, solely to return shipping rates and routing guidance. Extension quotes are handled under this Privacy Policy the same way as quotes submitted on smklog.com.
The extension does not collect passwords, payment card numbers, cookies, or browsing history. It does not track your browsing, does not remember or store your ZIP codes, does not inject advertising, and does not sell or transfer data to third parties except the service providers needed to produce the quote (as described in "Data Sharing"). Only display preferences (badge on/off, hidden sites) are stored locally in your browser and are removed by uninstalling the extension. Checkout and payment always happen on smklog.com, never inside the extension. The full extension policy lives at smklog.com/extension-policy.html.
