Where the two names still trip people
The listing says First Class
Marketplace settings, old blog posts and saved shipping presets still show the retired name. Selecting it today books Ground Advantage under the hood; nothing is lost except the label on the menu.
Stamps on a lumpy envelope
A stamped envelope with an object inside fails the thickness and rigidity tests and gets repriced in transit, arriving postage due or coming home. Objects want a package label from the start.
Paper that needs proof

Did Ground Advantage replace First-Class Mail?
Only the package half. First-Class Mail keeps moving letters, postcards and large envelopes, while First-Class Package Service ended in July 2023 and its traffic now books as Ground Advantage.
Is First-Class Mail faster than Ground Advantage?
USPS publishes 1–5 days for First-Class Mail and 2–5 days for Ground Advantage packages, both read 2026-08-10.
Can a small item go in a stamped envelope?
Only while the envelope stays flexible and uniformly thin. USPS reprices rigid or lumpy envelopes at package rates, so a phone case in a bubble mailer belongs on a Ground Advantage label, not under stamps.
Does First-Class Mail include tracking?
An ordinary stamped letter carries no tracking number. Ground Advantage puts tracking on every label, which is a big part of why sellers of sub-pound items lost nothing in the 2023 change.
