Can I print an eBay shipping label without a sale?
No. eBay's help steps for labels begin at Orders in My eBay or Seller Hub (ebay.com, read 2026-08-10), and an order only exists after a buyer commits to a purchase. The tool has no path to a label with no order behind it.
How do I ship something that sold outside eBay?
Buy a standalone label. Describe the parcel and the two ZIP codes in our calculator, compare live USPS, UPS and FedEx rates, pay, and print on plain paper. Nothing about the purchase touches your eBay account or its fees.
Can I list a fake item and sell it to myself for the label?
You would be staging a real transaction to imitate a postage counter — a genuine order, with everything that hangs off one, for no benefit a standalone label does not deliver in two minutes. Skip the theater and buy the label directly.
Do unused eBay labels get refunded?
eBay's help page states you have 28 days to cancel an unused USPS, FedEx, or UPS label purchased on eBay, and that a QR code scanned at a drop-off point counts as used (read 2026-08-10).
When should I buy the label on eBay instead?
Whenever the parcel belongs to a genuine eBay order. The platform label files its tracking number against the order on its own, and that automatic record is worth more to a seller than a small rate difference elsewhere.
