eBay labels

Reprinting an eBay shipping label

The button exists, it is just not called reprint. eBay files it under Download label, keeps it live for 7 days after purchase, and quietly stashes a PDF backup in your confirmation email. Everything below comes from eBay's own help page on printing labels, read 2026-08-09.

A reprint reuses the tracking number you already paid for. Only a torn or scanned label calls for anything more drastic.

Three places eBay keeps the button

eBay's help page states you can reprint your shipping label or QR code at no extra cost within 7 days of purchasing it. The wording matters: the menu item you are hunting for is Download label or Download QR code, not reprint.

Reprint paths as described on eBay's printing-and-canceling-labels help page (ebay.com, id 4157), read 2026-08-09.
Where you areThe pathWhat you get
Seller HubShipping Labels section → find the order → Download label or Download QR codeThe original PDF or QR code, unchanged
My eBayManage shipping labels → same Download options against the order rowIdentical file, for accounts that never use Seller Hub
Either orders pageMore actions menu on the order → Print packing slip and moreLabel straight to the printer, packing slip alongside if wanted

A fourth copy exists outside eBay entirely. When a label is bought as a single label, eBay attaches a PDF of it to the purchase confirmation email, so a search of your inbox for the order number can be faster than logging in. That PDF is the same file the Download button serves.

When the button is missing

The 7 days ran out

The download link is not archived forever; after a week it goes away. If the package never shipped, stop chasing the old file and cancel the label — eBay allows 28 days to cancel an unused USPS, FedEx, or UPS label, with the carrier taking up to 21 days to decide the refund.

The QR code was scanned

Per eBay, a QR code scanned at a participating drop-off point means the label is considered used and can't be canceled. Used also means no more reprints. If the store printed it and the printout was lost before the box was handed over, contact eBay rather than buying blind.

It is an eBay standard envelope

Those labels sit outside the normal rules: eBay's page says standard envelope labels can't be canceled once printed. Guard the first printout, because your fallback options are thinner than with a parcel label.

One warning that applies to every path: never tape two different labels for the same order onto a box, and never buy a second label as a shortcut when the first will not download. Two live tracking numbers on one parcel is how a package ends up suspended between scans while you pay twice.

Reprints that come out unreadable

Most reprint hunts start with a bad first print, so fix the print job or the second sheet will fail the same way. Print the PDF at 100 percent scale — fit-to-page shrinks the barcode until sorters misread it. Plain paper is fine when the print is dark and the tape does not cross the bars; a full walkthrough lives in our plain-paper label guide.

If the label buying itself is the annoyance — eBay's flow ties you to the order — a label for anything else you sell can be bought in the calculator by describing the item and entering two ZIP codes. The file arrives as a PDF you can print as many times as the paper demands.

Common questions

How do I reprint a shipping label on eBay?

Open Shipping Labels in Seller Hub (or Manage shipping labels in My eBay), find the order, and choose Download label or Download QR code. eBay states the reprint is offered at no extra cost within 7 days of purchasing the label (per ebay.com, read 2026-08-09).

Why did the reprint option disappear before 7 days?

A scanned label counts as used. Once your QR code has been scanned at a drop-off point, eBay treats the label as consumed, so downloading it again stops being offered even inside the window.

Does reprinting an eBay label cost anything?

No. The download within the 7-day window is included in what you already paid. You are printing the same label again, not buying a second one, so the tracking number does not change.

Where else is a copy of the label kept?

For a label bought on its own, eBay attaches a PDF copy to the purchase confirmation email. Search your inbox for the order number; that file prints exactly like the original download.

The window closed and the label never shipped. Now what?

Cancel it instead of hunting for a copy. eBay gives you 28 days to cancel an unused USPS, FedEx, or UPS label, and the carrier can take up to 21 days to approve the refund. Then buy a fresh label for the box.
