Nobody should pay that spread for identical windows. Westbound the product justifies itself: Ground stretches to 6-7 days and 3 Day Select holds at 3-4, so rows like $45.06 against $29.03 at 10 lb represent an actual purchase of time rather than a label upgrade.

When the map gets wide, ground windows widen with it and the three-day promise becomes scarce. That's when this tier competes, though at 10 lb westbound even then it asked $45.06 against a $25.51 Ground Saver row from the same request.
Always read the pair, not the product

Is 3 Day Select ever slower than UPS Ground?
Not slower, but frequently no faster where it matters. On our eastern lane both services quoted the same 3-4 business day window at every paired weight, while 3 Day Select charged $19.94 against Ground's $14.05 at 5 lb. Same promise, higher bill.
So when does 3 Day Select earn its price?
On long hauls where ground slows down. Westbound, Ground quoted 6-7 days and 3 Day Select held its 3-4 day window, so the 5 lb step from $19.30 to $27.17 genuinely buys about half the wait.
Why is the 15 lb eastern row empty?
