No name to check
Where UPS Standard or FedEx International Connect Plus point to a page a reader can verify, this line carries an internal label with no counterpart on the carrier's own site.
A padded envelope of business documents, 12.6 × 9.4 × 0.4 in and 0.88 lb (0.4 kg), quoted from Berkeley Heights, NJ 07922 to Toronto, London, Berlin and Sydney on 2026-09-02, the same four countries SMKlog sells international labels to. FedEx returned a live price on exactly one of those four routes, and on that route it was not the cheapest named carrier in the checkout.
The same envelope was priced to four countries on the same day. FedEx showed up in one of them.
Every row below is the same box: a 12.6 × 9.4 × 0.4 in padded envelope holding 0.88 lb of documents, shipped from Berkeley Heights, NJ 07922. The "cheapest named carrier" column is the lowest price the checkout returned with a real, citable retail service name attached to it. The last column is what FedEx itself quoted on that route, when it quoted anything.
| Destination | Cheapest named carrier | Price | FedEx's own quote |
|---|---|---|---|
| Toronto, Canada | UPS Standard 2 business days | $24.34 | No FedEx line returned |
| London, United Kingdom | UPS Worldwide Expedited | $33.77 | No FedEx line returned |
| Berlin, Germany | UPS Worldwide Expedited | $33.77 | FedEx International Connect Plus $39.78 |
| Sydney, Australia | UPS Worldwide Expedited | $45.06 | No FedEx line returned |
Toronto is the only route where the named-carrier cheapest price was also the overall cheapest thing the checkout returned. On the other three, a lower-priced line came back too, and it is missing from this table on purpose, not by oversight; the next section says why.
On London, Berlin and Sydney, the single cheapest rate the checkout returned every time was not from UPS, USPS or FedEx. It carried no retail carrier name a customer would recognize and no delivery estimate at all, on any of the three routes. Undercutting UPS Worldwide Expedited by roughly twelve to eighteen dollars on those lanes, it is real and it is what checkout would sell if a customer picked it, but this page prices only carriers with a name and a service a reader can look up, so it stays out of the comparison table above.
Where UPS Standard or FedEx International Connect Plus point to a page a reader can verify, this line carries an internal label with no counterpart on the carrier's own site.
Every named row in the table above either states a delivery-day figure or leaves it blank because the carrier did not return one. This line never returned one on any of the three routes it appeared on.
It appeared on London, Berlin and Sydney and was absent on Toronto, the one route where UPS Standard already held the lowest price on this envelope.
Two live checkout calls for the identical Berlin envelope, minutes apart on 2026-09-02, gave two different answers about FedEx. The first returned FedEx International Connect Plus at $39.78. The second, run immediately after with nothing about the box changed, returned no FedEx line at all; DHL Express Worldwide filled the spot FedEx had held, at $46.71, a price that matched in both calls.
A repeat live check for Toronto, London and Sydney, run the same way as the Berlin recheck above, still came back with nothing for FedEx at this weight and box size on any of the three routes: the carrier had no rate to offer on those routes that day, not merely a rate buried below a cheaper one.
SMKlog's own comparison of a 1.4 kg and a 5.5 kg boxed parcel on these same four lanes found FedEx quoting every route at both weights. A 0.4 kg document envelope sits well under either figure, and that is where FedEx stopped showing up.
A route that quoted FedEx once may not quote it again a few minutes later, so treat any single FedEx price for an envelope this light as a snapshot, not a standing rate.
None of the prices above include duty, VAT or GST at the destination. Checkout completes the customs declaration and states who is billed for that separately, before payment.
A heavier parcel in the same box changes the picture; see FedEx international rates for the same four lanes quoted at 1.4 kg and 5.5 kg, where FedEx competed on every route.
Carrier rates change day to day with fuel surcharges and network conditions; treat every figure above as what this specific envelope cost on this specific date and requote before relying on a number.
On the four lanes SMKlog sells today, FedEx returned a live price for exactly one: $39.78 to Berlin, Germany, for a 0.88 lb padded envelope of documents, quoted 2026-09-02. Toronto, London and Sydney came back with no FedEx line at all on the same envelope.
Not at this weight. A repeat live quote run for Canada, the UK and Australia on 2026-09-02 still returned nothing for FedEx on the same envelope, the carrier simply had no rate to offer for that route and box on that day.
UPS, on every route quoted for this page: UPS Standard at $24.34 to Toronto, and UPS Worldwide Expedited at $33.77 to London and Berlin and $45.06 to Sydney, all captured 2026-09-02.
Not on the one lane it appeared. Two live checks for the same Berlin envelope, minutes apart on 2026-09-02, disagreed: the first returned FedEx International Connect Plus at $39.78, the second returned no FedEx line at all.
To Canada, the UK, Germany and Australia, yes. Checkout compares whichever carriers actually quote the route, FedEx included when it responds, and completes the customs paperwork before payment.
