Why 4x6 thermal, not inkjet
Whatnot's seller dashboard offers two label formats: the default 8.5 by 11 sheet, and a 4 by 6 label sized for thermal printers. A show that closes 50 orders in an hour writes a lot of labels; every one printed on a sheet is a sheet fed, cut, and taped. A direct-thermal roll is one movement per label and costs nothing to run.
Fast, but the queue is faster
Any of the picks below print a label in a couple of seconds. The bottleneck at auction speed is the printer's queue and the OS driver, not the mechanism.
Label longevity
Direct thermal labels fade under long sunlight or heat exposure. For parcels moving in a week, that does not matter. For international shipments sitting on a dock, thermal-transfer with a ribbon is the more durable alternative.

Yes. Whatnot's label format setting includes a 4 by 6 option that outputs the label at the size direct-thermal printers use natively. Switch it in the seller dashboard once and every future label prints on the roll.
Rollo, Munbyn, or Zebra?
Rollo is the smoothest experience out of the box. Munbyn is the value pick with the same feature set at a lower shelf price. Zebra is the heavy-use pick for sellers running dozens of shows a month, especially off-lease ZP450 units, provided they come with account unlock documented.
Do I need any special software?

Will an inkjet do?
