How much is the UPS address correction fee?
UPS publishes $25.25 per package for 2026 in its Rate and Service Guide updated July 7, 2026, with a cap of $175.25 per shipment on Ground with Freight Pricing. FedEx publishes $25.50 for the same service.
What triggers an address correction?
A missing apartment or suite number, a wrong or transposed street number, a ZIP that does not match the city, or a company name sitting where the street should be. Anything that forces the network to look up the real destination rather than deliver to what was printed.
Does a validated address protect me from the fee?
Not entirely. UPS states plainly that an address it has validated may still be incorrect or incomplete for the purpose of completing delivery, and may be corrected. Validation catches format errors, not a buyer who left off their unit number.
How does SMKlog bill a correction?
We check addresses before issuing a label, which prevents most of them. If a carrier bills one afterwards we send a Stripe invoice to your email showing the carrier charge, since we do not keep a card on file. The amount stays due until it is paid.
