Releases and changes

Newest first. Dates are the day the change went live.

2026-10-12 — Developer portal, published schemas and a trust center

The Quote API contract gained component schemas, examples on every operation, the optional OAuth scheme and an authorship marker. Published beside it: nine JSON Schemas, a JSON-LD context, a Postman collection, a Spectral ruleset, a vocabulary, an OpenAPI Overlay, a FinOps mapping, the rate limits as a file, a CycloneDX bill of materials and a self-hosted APIs.json index. New pages: the developer portal, a playground, a status page, the rate limits and the trust center. Version stays 1.4.0: nothing an existing caller sends or reads changed.

2026-10-06 — USPS peak-season surcharge, captured

The peak-season surcharge guide prices the same parcels before and after the October 2026 USPS peak surcharge took effect, from live quotes with their capture dates.

2026-09-28 — New homepage with live monthly prices; new calculator

The homepage now shows the current month’s parcel price index lanes, refreshed from live quotes each month. The calculator was rebuilt as a single source the day before (2026-09-27), with the same quote and checkout flow behind it.

2026-09 — A2A agent card signed and conformant with A2A 1.0

The agent card at /.well-known/agent-card.json carries a detached JWS (ES256) signature that verifies against the published JWKS, declares protocol version 1.0 and three skills. Independent checks (apis.io, 2026-10-08) read it as conformant.

2026-09-01 — Quote API 1.4.0: export lanes

Quotes and labels to Canada, the United Kingdom, Germany and Australia (to_country_code), priced against the carriers that serve each lane, with the customs declaration completed at checkout. International shipping went live on the site on 2026-08-31.

2026-08-25 — Listed in the official MCP registry

The MCP server is published in the Model Context Protocol registry as com.smklog/parcel-shipping-rates, with the open-source stdio bridge on npm.

2026-07-28 — The agent surface

The Quote API opened to machines: /openapi.json, /status, the RFC 9727 api-catalog and the MCP endpoint at quote-api.smklog.com/mcp, no key required.

2026-07 — First issue of the parcel price index

Six fixed cartons priced to five US cities every month from live quotes, published with capture dates: the SMKlog parcel shipping price index, also readable over MCP.

Where else changes are recorded

Every version bump moves the version field on the OpenAPI document, the MCP server card and the agent card together. For press or partnership questions write to info@smklog.com; the about page names the founder.
