How much does a TV box cost to ship?
Our 55-inch example, boxed to 56 x 35 x 7 inches at 44 lb, quoted $164.75 UPS Ground up to $452.94 UPS Next Day Air Saver from Newark to Atlanta on 2026-07-27. Only UPS services priced this size on our quote; other carriers returned nothing for it.
Can padding really save a flat screen?
Padding protects the bezel, corners and back; it cannot make the panel itself flex-proof. A modern screen fails from twist and face pressure as much as from drops, so the goal of a TV box is keeping the set vertical, rigid and untouched on the glass.
Is the original TV carton good enough?
It is the best starting point you can have, since its foam blocks were molded for that exact chassis. Reinforce the outer corners with fresh cardboard and strap the box so it cannot be carried face-flat, and you have close to factory protection.
When should a TV go freight instead of parcel?
When parcel pricing climbs toward triple digits and the set is large enough to ride a pallet, strapping it upright to freight often protects it better per dollar. Bigger screens also start exceeding parcel size ceilings outright, at which point the choice makes itself.
