Before postage is worth a thought on this lane, one thing has to be settled first, and it is whether a lithium cell sits anywhere in the box. Thailand's postal listing prohibits them, and prohibits anything with one properly installed inside it too, which quietly disqualifies most of what people mean when they say electronics. Answer that first and the rest of the page is useful; answer it wrong and none of it is. The rules below were transcribed from the Postal Service listing for Thailand on 2026-08-07.
Postage is the easy part of a Thai shipment. What the box contains is what stops it.
The listing prohibits “Lithium cells and batteries — including items containing properly installed lithium cells and batteries under IMM 135.6 — mailed to or sent via Thailand.” Two phrases in that sentence do the damage. Properly installed removes the usual exemption that lets a battery travel inside the device it powers, so a phone, a laptop, a camera, a cordless drill and a power bank are all barred by the same clause. Or sent via Thailand extends it past the destination: a parcel merely transiting Bangkok on its way somewhere else is caught too.
There is no declared-value workaround and no packaging that satisfies it, because the objection is to the cell rather than to how it is boxed. A sender with electronics to move has to leave the postal network and talk to a courier that runs its own dangerous goods program on the lane, which is a different quote and a different set of paperwork. Everything else on this page assumes the box has no cell in it.
Three more prohibitions catch ordinary parcels. Coins, banknotes, precious metals, precious stones, jewelry and other valuable articles are barred outright, with the same list repeated as a separate warning against express shipments. Playing cards are prohibited, which surprises anyone posting a boxed game or a novelty deck. Firing caps and charged metal cartridges for small arms are prohibited, and firearms and air guns need government authorization, with an exception written into the listing for children's toy air guns and for guns kept purely as curios.

The express product is the one to watch on shape. It carries the same 66 lb as the ordinary parcel but stops six inches shorter, at 36 inches, so a long thin carton that fits one product will be refused on the other. Flat rate envelopes on both products cap at 4 lb, and the medium and large flat rate boxes cap at 20 lb.
One absence on the listing shapes the whole delivery experience: delivery duty paid is not offered to Thailand, so no sender can settle Thai charges from this end through the mail. Whatever customs raises is raised against the person at the door, which is why the next section matters as much as the ceilings above.
Thailand used to let small parcels through without a bill. That ended at the start of this year, and the listing spells out both the band and the payment method, which is unusual enough to be worth quoting in full.

Read the first row literally. The exemption band is one Baht, which is a fraction of a cent, so in practice every parcel with goods in it now arrives with something to settle. A gift sent without warning becomes a small bill and a doorstep transaction for a relative who was not expecting either. Tell them the amount is coming, and tell them it can be paid by phone.
One address type is easy to miss and specific to this destination: mail can be addressed directly to refugee camps in Thailand, which the listing states plainly. Most country listings say nothing of the kind, and it matters to anyone sending supplies rather than presents.
Checkout on this site issues United States domestic parcel labels, so no Thai figure appears anywhere on this page. Publishing one would mean publishing a number nobody here could stand behind on the day you clicked.
A box moving inside the United States, including the run to a forwarder or a consolidator that handles the export leg, is priced by the calculator on the spot. For the crossing itself, send the carton dimensions, the weight, the contents and the Thai address through freight review and somebody quotes it manually, naming the service and the declaration it needs. Do the prohibition check first: a quote for a shipment that cannot legally enter is time nobody gets back.
A country listing is amended without notice, and a prohibition can appear between the day a box is packed and the day it is handed over. Check the Thai page again on the morning you mail, and remember that a courier running its own export service publishes separate conditions for the same country.
