FedEx holiday schedule for 2026

FedEx does not sort its holiday year into open and closed. A third status, modified service, covers eleven of the twenty-six dated rows on the 2026 schedule, and it means early on-call and drop box pickups in some areas rather than a shutdown. The 2026 schedule, row by row

FedEx Custom Critical is marked available on every single row of the year, so it is left out of the table below to keep the columns readable. FedEx Logistics is closed on the seven full-closure dates and open otherwise.

Neither footnote suspends delivery. Both are about collection: an earlier cutoff, a drop box that may be sealed, and in December a narrower Ground pickup. If you drop your own parcels rather than having them collected, a modified-service day mostly means going earlier.

What does modified service mean on the FedEx calendar?

FedEx defines it in footnote one as early on-call pickups and drop box pickups, including drop box closures, in some areas. Footnote two extends that for Christmas Eve and New Year's Eve with modified Ground pickups on 24 December and 31 December. Deliveries are not described as suspended on those rows.

Which days are fully closed for FedEx in 2026?

Easter Sunday 5 April, Memorial Day 25 May, Independence Day 4 July, Labor Day 7 September, Thanksgiving Day 26 November, Christmas Day 25 December and New Year's Day 1 January 2027. FedEx Office is also shown closed on Thanksgiving, Christmas Day and New Year's Day.

Does the FedEx column cover freight as well as parcels?

Not all of it. The schedule carries a note that FedEx includes all U.S. and international parcel and express freight services, except LTL freight services. If you are moving pallets rather than boxes, the parcel column on this calendar is not your answer.

How reliable are these dates?

They are what FedEx published, with its own caveat attached: the schedule states that the information reflects current operating schedules planned for these holiday periods, that dates are subject to change, and that updates will be posted on the FedEx page as each holiday approaches.
