When these dates do land, they land on usps.com, ups.com and fedex.com first. A December date reprinted on a logistics blog in July came from somewhere else, and the somewhere else is almost always last year.

Christmas shipping deadlines for 2026
As of 2026-07-28, none of the three big US carriers had posted send-by dates for this Christmas. We checked each one directly rather than repeating a list: the USPS holiday shipping dates page returned no 2026 deadlines, the FedEx last-days-to-ship page pointed at a document that has not gone up yet, and the deadlines file at the address FedEx used last year returns a not-found. Any December 2026 date circulating right now has been lifted from a previous year.

Christmas falls on a Friday in 2026. A deadline copied from a year when it fell midweek is wrong by days.
What we checked, and what came back
This page exists because the alternative is repeating dates that nobody has published. Here is the state of play on the day of writing.
- USPS. The holiday shipping dates page on usps.com carried no 2026 send-by dates when we opened it on 2026-07-28. Historically these appear in the autumn.
- FedEx. The last-days-to-ship page links out to a deadlines document rather than listing dates itself, and the file at the address FedEx used for the previous year returns a not-found response.
- UPS. No standalone Christmas deadline sheet was reachable. What UPS does publish is its operations calendar, including two dated pickup cutoffs for late December.
So the honest position is that the December 2026 cutoffs are not out. What is out, and what you can plan against right now, is which days each network runs.

Where a row says not listed, that means the date does not appear on the UPS holiday calendar at all, which is how UPS marks an ordinary working day. We are not going to translate that into a promise on its behalf.
Working a safe date out yourself
Until the cutoffs land, the method is straightforward: take the window your own quote returns, add every closed or modified day inside it, then add a buffer for the weeks when volume is highest. Here is what the windows look like on a long domestic lane right now.

The three ground rows carrying a window run from 5-6 to 7-8 business days across $1.20 of price, and the air row cuts the window to 2-3 for $12.29 over the cheapest row on the lane. A parcel bought on ground in mid-December with a 7-8 business day window is realistically crossing two weekends before it lands, which is the arithmetic the deadline charts exist to save you from doing.
Christmas on a Friday changes the shape
A Friday closure sits against a weekend, so the practical gap for ground parcels is longer than a single day. Build that into any cutoff you promise a customer rather than counting only the marked holiday.
Buy the window, not the badge
If a date genuinely has to hold, the thing to pay for is a shorter quoted window on your actual lane. Service names are marketing; the window returned with the rate is the number that describes your parcel.

They have not been published. The USPS holiday shipping dates page showed no 2026 send-by dates when we checked on 2026-07-28. USPS typically posts them in the autumn, so the page to watch is usps.com rather than any aggregator. We would rather tell you a date is missing than print one we cannot stand behind.
What has been published for December 2026?
The operating calendars. UPS shows Christmas Eve on Thursday 24 December as a delivery day with pickup limited to prearranged Air collections, Christmas Day closed, and New Year's Eve as Air delivery only. FedEx shows 23 December open, 24 December on modified service, 25 December closed and Saturday 26 December open. USPS observes Christmas Day as one of its eleven holidays.
When should I ship if there is no published deadline yet?
Work backwards from the window your own quote returns, then add every closed day inside it. On a long domestic lane our 2026-07-28 quotes returned ground windows of 5-6 to 8-9 business days and air windows of 2-3, which is the spread you are planning against. Re-check in October when the carriers post their dates.
