Most Priority Mail pages reprint the counter chart. This one does something narrower and more useful: it lists the exact totals our production checkout returned on 2026-07-27 for defined boxes on two specific routes, and says plainly where Priority stopped appearing in the results.
Rows exist only for requests where Priority actually surfaced in the returned rate set. Nothing is interpolated to fill the grid.

Two honest observations. First, 2 lb and 3 lb from Los Angeles priced identically at $22.34, a real banding quirk we left as-is. Second, above 5 lb Priority vanished from the returned sets entirely; ground services held every remaining slot, which tells you what the engine thought of Priority's value at those weights. The eastern 1 lb quote also carried a slower 4-5 day window than the western one's 2-3, so don't assume the coast-to-coast run is the slow one.
At 1 lb westbound the jump from Ground Advantage to Priority was $11.12 to $16.47. By 5 lb it was $20.84 to $32.26. The heavier the box, the more you pay for the same window, which is why Priority earns its keep mostly on light urgent parcels.
The same product quoted 2-3 days from Los Angeles and 4-5 from Newark in this capture. A Priority window is a property of the ZIP pair, not of the sticker, so read the one attached to your own quote.
When a service doesn't show up among your options, the engine judged it uncompetitive for that exact request. That's worth more than a national average table pretending every combination exists.

On the western lane, clearly. Priority quoted 2-3 business days where Ground Advantage quoted 6-7, and the 1 lb gap was $16.47 against $11.12. From Newark the Priority window widened to 4-5 days, so the speed argument depends on where you ship from.
The quote engine returns the strongest options for each request, and above 5 lb on these lanes Priority priced itself out of that set, with ground tiers far below it. We only publish rows the capture actually contained, so the gaps stay gaps.
