Poshmark shipping label: the tiers and the ceiling

Straight answer first: for a normal Poshmark sale, use Poshmark's label. The buyer pays the shipping at checkout, and since February 13, 2026 a heavier order costs the seller a flat tier — $5.00 from 5.1 to 10 lb, $10.00 from 10.1 to 15 lb. Nothing you buy yourself will beat that. What this page is about is the edge: above 15 lb there is no tier, and a big bundle lands there faster than most sellers expect once the box and padding are on the scale.

The example on this page is a live quote: 17 × 17 × 7 in at 15.4 lb, UPS Ground Saver $30.48 on the route below.

A real quote: a boxed dinnerware set, just over the ceiling

On 2026-07-26 we typed “Set of four ceramic dinner plates, four bowls, and two serving platters, boxed” into the SMKlog calculator and asked for Phoenix, AZ 85001 to Philadelphia, PA 19103. Home goods are where Poshmark sellers meet the weight ceiling. Everything below is what came back — no scale, no tape measure, no edited numbers.

What we typed

Set of four ceramic dinner plates, four bowls, and two serving platters, boxed

Brand and model are what make an estimate tight. A one-word description falls back to a category average; a specific model gets a specific box.

Packed box it returned

17 × 17 × 7 in
42 × 42 × 18 cm

Packed weight 15.4 lb (7 kg).

Route

Phoenix, AZ 85001
to Philadelphia, PA 19103

Both ZIPs are real and priced live — distance and zone move this price more than anything else on the page.

15.4 lb — four tenths of a pound past the top tier. That is the whole point: the ceramics alone might weigh 13 lb, and the box, the bubble wrap, and the tape carry it over. There is no 15-to-20 lb tier to fall into, so this parcel moves on a label the seller buys.

CarrierServicePriceEstimated transit
UPSGround Saver$30.486 business days
FedExGround Economy$30.496 business days
USPSGround Advantage$33.324 business days
UPSGround$34.716 business days
FedExGround$44.497 business days

Prices are what you pay at checkout — label plus SMKlog's charge, nothing added later. The cheapest option on this run was UPS Ground Saver at $30.48, but USPS Ground Advantage arrives two days sooner for $2.84 more — worth it on a sale where the buyer is waiting. Carriers reprice constantly and every route is different, so treat this as a worked example, not a price list: run your own ZIP codes for today's number.

What Poshmark covers, tier by tier

Current since February 13, 2026, when Poshmark collapsed its older upgrade table into two flat tiers.

Packed weightWhat the seller paysNotes
Up to 5 lb$0.00Buyer pays the shipping shown at checkout. Covers the large majority of clothing sales.
5.1 – 10 lb$5.00A single flat tier, taken out of the sale. Bundles and outerwear land here.
10.1 – 15 lb$10.00The top tier. Boots, home goods, and multi-item bundles.
Over 15 lbno tierOutside the table. Ships on a label the seller buys.

The whole order still travels in one package, so a bundle is weighed as one parcel, not per item. Note how flat the cost stays inside the table: ten dollars covers everything from 10.1 to 15 lb. That is why buying your own label for an on-platform sale under the ceiling almost never pays — and why the jump at 15 lb is worth planning around before you accept a bundle offer.

When a seller-bought label is the right call

The packed box is over 15 lb

There is no tier past 15 lb. Weigh the sealed box — tape, padding, and a double-wall carton add one to three pounds over the contents, which is exactly the margin that carries a bundle over the line.

The sale happened somewhere else

A buyer who found you on Instagram, at a market, or through a friend is not a Poshmark order and has no Poshmark label behind it. Quote the box, buy the label, send the tracking number.

You are shipping something of your own

Returning a purchase, sending a gift, mailing something to family. Same parcel, same carriers, no marketplace involved at all.

Not: an ordinary sale under the ceiling

Worth saying plainly. Under 15 lb, Poshmark's own label costs the seller nothing to ten dollars and posts its tracking automatically. Buying your own there would cost you money and add work. Use theirs.

Poshmark shipping: common questions

What does a Poshmark label cost the seller?

Nothing up to 5 lb — the buyer pays. Then a flat $5.00 from 5.1 to 10 lb and $10.00 from 10.1 to 15 lb, deducted from the sale. Current since February 13, 2026.

What if the order is over 15 lb?

The tier table stops there. A heavier parcel moves on a label you buy yourself, so weigh the packed box before accepting a large bundle offer.

Is my own label ever cheaper?

Not for an ordinary on-platform sale under the ceiling — theirs wins, and we would rather say so than sell you something you do not need. Your own label is for over 15 lb, off-platform sales, and personal shipments.

Does packaging count toward the weight?

Yes. Carriers weigh the finished parcel. Box, padding, tape, and tissue all count, and together they routinely add one to three pounds.

What does a 15 lb parcel cost on my own label?

Box and distance decide. The example above came to $30.48 with UPS Ground Saver on a coast-to-coast lane; a short lane for the same box prices well below that.

Do I need an account to buy the label?

Not here. Describe the item, enter both ZIP codes, compare live USPS, UPS, and FedEx prices, and pay for the one you pick — no scale and no signup in between.
