Can I still use a label I printed weeks ago?
Often yes, since none of the three big carriers publishes a firm use-by date for a paid, unused label. You fall outside the USPS refund window after 30 days though, and outside every UPS void option after 180, so waiting quietly shrinks your fallbacks.
Can I get a refund on a label I never used?
USPS allows it within 30 days of printing for labels that were never scanned, per usps.com. UPS voids run out at 180 days. On our side, the terms say unused labels may be eligible for carrier void or postage refund only when the selected carrier allows it, and carrier decisions take time.
Does the ship date printed on a label matter?
Carriers pull the operative data from the barcode at the first scan, and none of the pages we checked ties acceptance to the printed date. Where the date really counts is refund math, which starts at label creation or printing.
What if my SMKlog label fails to generate at all?
Our terms cover that case head-on: we review the order and either issue the label, ask for corrected information, or refund the label payment when no label can be provided.
