Does DHL ship suitcases?
Yes. DHL Express sells a dedicated U.S. export luggage product: book it online through MyDHL+ with promo code SHIPMYBAG, or bring the bag to a DHL Service Point and use code LUGGAGE. It ships internationally only, and DHL prices it on request rather than posting one fixed rate.
How much does DHL charge to ship a suitcase?
DHL's own luggage page lists starting rates for a bag of 30 lb or less: $95 to the Caribbean, $115 to Asia, $117 to Europe, and $225 to South America, read 2026-08-18. Those are the carrier's own listed starting figures, not a checkout quote from this site, and DHL says the real rate varies and offers a quote.
Does a checked suitcase count as an oversized DHL package?
Usually not. DHL's oversize charge starts once a package's longest side passes 40 inches or its second-longest side passes 32 inches. Two suitcases already boxed and quoted on this site's other guides top out at 31.5 by 21.7 inches, clear of both lines, and neither gets remotely close to the 150 lb overweight trigger either.
Can I book a DHL suitcase label through SMKlog?
No. This site's checkout returns UPS, FedEx and USPS for a U.S. domestic parcel. DHL's luggage product is booked directly with DHL for the leg that leaves the country. If part of the trip is a domestic hop first, such as a bag mailed to a U.S. forwarder, the calculator prices that leg the same way it prices any suitcase.
What about a suitcase with a built-in battery, shipped out of the country on DHL?
Treat a power bank that does not come out as an installed lithium battery once the case is packed and taped, and check DHL's own battery acceptance rules before booking rather than assuming a domestic ground rule carries over. Our international luggage guide covers how installed-battery paperwork tends to work across destinations.
