Every one of those five prices already includes SMKlog's own charge on top of what the carrier billed — nothing gets added at payment. The spread is wide: paying for two-day FedEx Priority nearly doubles the eight-day UPS price on the identical box. Every lane sells on a DDU basis here, so whatever the UK assesses on the contents lands on your recipient when the box arrives, not on this receipt.
A 0.9 kg box works out to just under 2 lb, comfortably inside the 4 lb ceiling where USPS's cheapest international product still applies. That is the whole reason the post office wins here: the published rate below undercuts every courier row above it.

USPS does not name the United Kingdom on either page read for this table — both list Canada, Mexico and Australia as examples of the roughly 180 countries covered and leave the rest to a separate country list. The starting prices above apply regardless, since they are the floor USPS publishes across that whole list rather than a UK-specific number. Once a box passes 4 lb, First-Class Package International Service is off the table entirely and Priority Mail International's by-weight price, from $43.55, sits above every courier row this page quotes.
The cheapest line in the checkout table above is not a rate anyone can look up and pay directly. UPS's own page for the service, read 2026-09-01, states it plainly: “UPS Worldwide Economy is offered on a contract-only basis.”
That single sentence is why the price only shows up through a checkout that already holds an account carrying it, rather than as a number on ups.com. The same page splits timing by who pays duty: 5 to 8 business days when duties are prepaid before delivery (DDP), 5 to 12 days when they are collected from the recipient at the door (DDU). Not directly. UPS states plainly that Worldwide Economy is offered on a contract basis, so there is no counter rate a private shipper can walk up and pay. It reaches a retail shipment through an account that already carries it, which is how the DDU version of that service became the cheapest line in our own checkout quote rather than something bought from ups.com.
Yes, and the jump is steep. On the same 0.9 kg box, moving from the 8 business day UPS option at $30.13 to a 2 business day FedEx service nearly doubled the price to $45.73 or more. The middle tier, FedEx International Connect Plus or International Economy at 4 business days, sat closer to $38.41 to $38.64.
