On the heaviest carton, UPS Ground itself came back at $35.68 and USPS Ground Advantage at $44.80 for the same box and lane, against $30.07 for UPS Ground Saver and $30.76 for FedEx Ground Economy. Five services on one carton, none of them free, and the cheapest and dearest are not the same carrier. Whatever the carton cost to obtain, the label attached to it is where the real money sits, and that number moves with weight, size and distance rather than with which company's name is on the box.
